Developed Bangladesh by the shortest possible time

To make Bangladesh a developed country by the shortest possible time, we need to bring some small changes that will bring big changes.

These are :

1.We have to show the nation value of time. For this, we have only one way , that is , to declare hourly minimum wages/salary, 20, 25 or 30 TK, whatever reasonable from both employer and employee point of view.

2. We have to start daily organizer in the school for students from class six to ten. They will just write when they will wake up from sleep, when they will take breakfast, bath, start for school, come back home, play, do home work, see TV, go to sleep. After writing that they will get it signed by parents at home and by teachers at school and will be encouraged to follow that as much as they can. It will make our nation well organizer of time. Private schools can start it before government takes such initiative.

3. We have to make the engine of Bangladesh, that is, bureaucracy, efficient. To do so, they have to trained on the following subjects:a.

a.How to say “No” to illegal pressure

b. How to maintain effective working relationship with boss and subordinate, even with the most disliked colleague.

c. How to play effective role in a teamd.

d. How to manage timee.
e. How to manage health (personal and family)

f. How to negotiate for win- win situation

Training on these points must be included in their basic or fundamental training. IBA and MBA department of our universities can be used for such training.

4. Our universities must be rescued from ill effect of politics, not saying to make them free of politics. To do so, performance of teachers at every level, from lecturer to professor, must be measured. Performance as chairman, which they become by rotation, must be measured. Combining their performance as administrator (chairman) and academician (Lecturer to professor) , Dean and VC‘s will be appointed. Those who want to do party politics, they are free to do and they can be appointed in out side of universities for their services to the party, but not within universities. (Details of this process, how performance measured, can be discussed later)

5. Educational institutes must be declared and made free of arms. Only thing needed is 100% honest intention of prime minister which is enough to achieve it by police force.

6. Our scientific research organizations must be made functional. Research fund must be increased gradually and distributed based on the performance of the organization, not on number of researchers. Performance will be measured based on paper published and technology transferred per head of researchers.

7. For energy, we must made target that 50 % of our house hold energy will come from solar energy. This will save money and environment.

8. We have to make our every capable NRB pay their debt to country by sponsoring a scholarship in their village school where they have studied. If every capable NBR sponsor one such scholarship of 50-100 thousand tk(700-1000 $ or pound ) a year , then almost 100% school will have such scholarship. If every scholarship is distributed with transparency and gorgeously for best performers of class six to ten, what impact it will make in our education system can we imagine??????????.

NRB don’t need tobring back, they will be marketing representative of Bangladesh. We have enough intelligent people in our country. We just need to make sure that they can utilize their full ability in their respective jobs.

9. When any Bangladeshi will go out of the country, in the air port he must be given a leaflet with directions what he should do in abroad as Bangladeshi and what he should not do and how he can promote Bangladesh.

Do you think these changes will change Bangladesh really? If yes, then let’s try our level best.

Show and Make the Nation Realize Value of Time

Time is the most valuable after life in this world. Well all know it. But as a nation do we give due value to time? To evaluate something, we need to realize the value of that thing. Do you realize the value of time as a nation? This is no sign that as a nation we give due value to time. But there are lots of signs that we don’t value time. From university teachers to laymen, we hardly evaluate time. Delaying in marking the answer sheet of examination by the university teachers clearly reveals how teachers give value to the time of students. Students frequently ask for deferring their exam. They engage intentionally in violence to lead their institutes closed sin die so that exams are deferred. If our educated people like teachers and students of highest educational institutes were aware of value of time, they could not cause such of loss of time.

However, to develop as a nation we must give due value to time. But we can’t make the nation aware of value of time by asking students to memorize the essay ‘‘Value of Time’. If we could make the students realize the value of time by memorization of such essay, then as a nation we would value time, we would be developed nation.
S0 we need mechanism for making people realize the value of time. We need mechanism so that people can see value of time.

What is the mechanism? How can we make people, teachers, students, workers, employer, employee see value of time?

Fixing wage per hour is the mechanism that can show us the value of time, make us realize the value of time. There is demand that minimum wage should be 4500 taka per month. We just need to calculate how much it is per hour if 22days and 8 hours per days are taken as working time and declare that minimum wage will be ~25 taka/hour.

Hourly wage declaration will make both employer and employee aware of value of time
In our county if one remains absent one day in workplace, then he does not care about it. He does not realize how much loss he is causing to his employer. Even employer does not bother about it. But hourly wage fixing will clearly show value of every hour to both of them.

Another example will make it clear how hourly wage can make us aware of value of time. Tuition is very much common in our country. In Dhaka city, a university student tuition for 1-2 hours a day for 2-3 days per week and earn 2000-3000 taka/per month, even more. If we take 2 hours per day and 3 days per week and 3000 taka per month, then hourly wage become 125 taka. If wage is fixed hourly, then the student and teacher both will see the value of time. Student will now realize how many taka of his parents will go in vein if he remains absent from tuition. The teacher will also aware how many taka he may loss if remain absent for a day. In monthly system, students hardly mind missing one session of tuition of 1-2 hours. Thus in every case, hourly wage will show and make us realize the value of time. The sooner we see the value of time and realize the value of time, the faster we are in our way of development. Weekly or fortnightly payment can be made along with hourly wage fixing.
To realize the value of time, another thing must be done along with hourly wage fixing. We must adjust our office and school time with sunrise. Office hour should not be the same during summer and winter. In the summer when sun rises at 5 -5.30am, then office hour should start at 7.30 or 8 am. This will also show us what difference one hour can bring in our daily activities. It will help save our power as most office will be closed within day time, people will get shopping time in the day time, and shops can be asked to close early and eventually will be closed early as there will have few or no customer at late night. This will make us “early to rise” for going office and school and “early to bed” to have enough sleep. As result, we will make much progress in becoming “healthy, wealthy and wise” as a nation.

We can do these things just by administrative order. No expense is involved to show value of time.

Should not we do it soon? Can we expect that this reformist CTG will bring this reform in our time management?

Bangladesh is a rich country. Why so many people are poor?

Bangladesh is a rich country. Are you lost, don’t be. Really Bangladesh is a rich country.
Bangladesh is rich in natural resources and human resources. Bangladesh has around 150million people, more then required, skilled and unskilled. Moreover, Bangladesh has natural gas, coal, fertile land and enough sunshine which allow three crops per year in most of her lands. In spite of being rich, a large portion of her population lives in poverty. 50 % of her populations live under the national poverty line according to World Bank. What is the single major reason behind such pathetic condition? Isn’t it the poor utilization of all of its resources?
Actually weak management of power, time, human resources and land is the key reason for such a large proportion of people being poor.

So we need to handle all our resources from management point of view. Improvement of management of all of these resources, particularly human resources, should be the key point in our policy formation to make Bangladesh a developed rich country from rich developing country in a short period of time.

The population, hard working, intelligent, resilient and empathetic, is the most important and everlasting resource for Bangladesh. The best use of this resource for itself deserves a holistic attitude and approach and best possible management. So we should have Human Resources Management Division under the Prime Minister office, if not a Resources Management Ministry. We should immediately form such division. This specialized division for special task of management of “best resource” should be formed with specialized people. Certainly these specialized people are MBA majoring in Human Resources. They should also be supplemented with best psychology and statistics and Marketing graduate of the country. The division will be divided into a number of team or group and lead by the best Human resource Manager of the country. Different group of the Division should be assigned to device policy and procedure for the management of the assigned population group. Each group will comprise of two human resource graduates, one psychologist, one statistician and one marketing graduate specialized in advertisement.

Human resource managers will make plan for management of the assigned population group considering the psychological study, statistical analysis of the population group and the advertisement specialist will communicate the national policy to that population group effectively and easily so that they know the policy well, become motivated to take advantages of the management policy and procedures.

Devising policy is of no use if not implemented efficiently. So implementation mechanism for management of different group of populations, children, adolescent, youth, Women, Men, Retired and tribal, rural and urban and farmers, should be “must do” assigned task of the respective group of the division. Implementation of the devised policy will be the performance criteria for the team or group devising the policy and procedure. Based on the efficiency in implementing their policy and procedure measured by improvement of that particular group of population over 3-5 years, the team will be evaluated and rewarded. The division devising policy and procedure for Farmers’ management will implement their policy through Agriculture Ministry, Group working for youth will implement their policy through Youth Ministry, and Division working for Non Resident Bangladeshi (NBR) will implement their policy through foreign employment and welfare Ministry.

The division should not be traditional like other Ministry or divisions. The division will be formed with smart people who themselves will make their own tea, coffee, type their own letter both in Bangla and English, drive their own car. So no peon, no driver, no computer operator will be employed for them. Only cleaner and security guard can be provided. All other accessory works should be done by themselves. As they will do all of their clerical work of their own, they will be compensated with additional benefits. These additional benefits will draw meritorious graduates.

We should vote for the parties that will include such “managerial view” in their election manifesto in the upcoming election.
